Before You Book Your Braids

How are knotless braids different from traditional box braids?

Knotless braids start with your own natural hair before extension hair is fed in gradually, which keeps the root flatter and lighter at the scalp. Box braids are built in separate sections and can start differently. Braid size, added hair, parting and the length you choose all change how the finished style looks and feels.

Do I need to arrive with my hair washed?

No — clients are not obligated to come with their hair washed. Shampoo and conditioning is available in the studio for $35. If you do arrive with washed hair, make sure it is free from product, gel and leave-in conditioner so the braids sit cleanly.

How do I book, and is a deposit required?

A $35 deposit secures your appointment and goes toward your total. The balance is paid after your service. After your booking comes through, Julie follows up by text to confirm — so please make sure your contact details are accurate. Call (720) 582-5282 to book.

What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Clients have 48 hours to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Cancelling inside that window means the deposit is not refundable. Braiding hair is prepared ahead of your appointment and the time is held for you, which is why the deposit is retained.

Which braiding hair colours are available?

Braiding hair colours are 1, 4, 27, 30, 613 and Blue. Kinky Twist comes in 1 and 30; Havanah Twist in 1 and 4; Passion Twist in 1/bug, 4 and 27; Micro Braids in 1B; Crochet Twist in 1B; Crochet Box Braids in 1, 1/33 and 1B/30; Tropical Curls Crochet in 27. Human deep bulk comes in 1, 4 and 613 at $45 per bundle.

What should I know before bringing guests to my appointment?

Studio space is limited, so please do not bring extra guests, children or friends to your appointment. Julie reserves the right to refuse service to anyone demonstrating inappropriate behaviour.

When should I choose cornrows instead of individual braids?

Cornrows follow the scalp, which makes the parting pattern a major part of the finished style — stitch braids and Fulani braids sit in this group. Individual braids such as box or knotless braids hang more freely from separate sections. The right choice depends on the look, the movement you want and how you plan to maintain it.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Payment is accepted by card or Zelle only, and card payments are preferred. The $35 deposit is applied to your total, with the balance settled after your service is complete.
